AC Miramar retains the original facade of the old palace that Alfonso XIII opened on the mountain of Montjuïc, for the Barcelona Universal Exhibition in 1929. The area that was landscaped during the Exhibition, which surrounds the hotel and most of Montjuïc, was designed by Forestier and the vegetation consists mostly of Mediterranean species. In 1959 the building was the home to the Studios of Spanish Radio and Television, until they moved to Sant Cugat in 1983, at which point the Palace fell into disuse until its recent transformation by the architect Oscar Tusquets Blanca.

Where are we?

Located in the heart of mountain of Montjuic, the Hotel Miramar is just 1 kilometre from the centre of Barcelona. The hotel overlooks the city of Barcelona and offers beautiful panoramic Mediterranean views.

The Miramar has the advantage of being located in a very quiet area, which includes 22 parks and historical, themed and exotic gardens, such as the Costa i Llobera and Cinto Verdaguer gardens just a few metres away.

The hotel has its own 24-hour car park with security for your peace of mind.

HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR ? :

When you arrive in Barcelona from all directions, take the Ronda Litoral as far as Exit 21. On leaving you will come to a large roundabout, go halfway round and take the third street on the right (C/ Joseph Carner).

Once you reach C/ Joseph Carner, there are two ways of getting to us. One is to take the second street on the right (Passeig de Montjuïc ) until the hotel as shown by the purple line on the map. The other option is to take Avenida Miramar from Calle Joseph Carner until the hotel.

HOW TO GET THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT ? :

• Bus/Train:
  Take a train to Plaza Espanya station, where you should change to bus number 50. The entire journey takes approximately 45 minutes. The stop is 100 metres from the hotel. Get off at Plaza Carlos Ibáñez.
• Aerobus:
  To reach Plaza Espanya there is also the “Aerobús”, a blue bus that runs directly from the door of terminal A.
• Taxi:
  The hotel is only 12 kilometres from airport and the taxi is very easily caught at the airport. It takes 20 minutes, and costs approximately 20/25 Euros.
  

NEAR METRO STATION

The closest stop to the hotel is Paral·lel: Line 2 and 3, 15 minutes from the hotel. From there, take the funicular railway to Montjuic (Superior station). It runs every 10 minutes. The Montjuïc Funicular is part of the Metro network and is connected to the Paral·lel Metro station from lines 2 and 3 with no need to pay again.
